Acts 11:7-9 I heard a voice say to me, 'Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.' But I said, 'No,Lord! I have never eaten anything that is unholy or unclean.' But the voice from heaven spoke again,'God has made these things clean, so don't call them unholy.'

베드로는 일어나서 죽여서 먹으라는 음성을 들었을 때, 자신이 지금까지 알고 있던 '먹으면 안되는 음식'이었으므로 음성에 순종하지 않고 오히려 그러한 더럽고 거룩하지 않은 것을 먹을 수 없다고 말했습니다. 하나님께서 이러한 것을 깨끗하다고 말씀하셨으니 그것을 거룩하지 않다고 말하지 말라는 음성을 들었습니다.
이러한 일 이후로 베드로의 삶에 큰 변화가 있었을 것입니다. 자신이 지금까지 지켜오거나 들어왔던 것들의 판단기준이 혼란스러웠을 수 있습니다. 아니, 매우 혼란스러웠을 것입니다. 그러나 그 때 베드로는 깨달았을 것입니다. 자신이 가져왔던, 그리고 자신의 주변이나 조상들로부터 물려받았던 지식이나 지혜의 근원이 무엇인지를 알았을 것입니다.
무엇을 먹고 마시는지가 중요한 것이 아니라 그것을 그렇게 하도록 하는 이유가 무엇인지를 알아야 하는 것이며, 그 기준에 따라 행할지 말지, 먹을지 말지를 결정해야 하는 것입니다. 하나님께서 그것들을 만드셨기 때문에 하나님의 기준으로 어떻게 행할지를 결정해야 하는 것입니다. 눈에 보이는 더러운 것의 기준이 아니라 하나님께서 그것들을 어떻게 하셨는지, 깨끗하게 하셨는지 여부에 따라 깨끗하고 더러운 기준이 있는 것입니다.
주님, 저도 제 자신의 고정관념을 따르지 아니하고 오직 하나님의 관점을 따르는 자가 되길 기도 드립니다. 오늘도 오직 하나님의 관점을 생각하여 판단하고 행하고 말하는 자가 되길 간절히 기도 드립니다. 예수님의 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘!

When Peter heard the voice telling him to get up and kill and eat, he did not obey the voice because it was what he had always known as "unclean food," but rather said that he could not eat such an unclean and unholy thing. He heard the voice telling him not to call it unholy because God had said that it was clean.
There must have been a big change in Peter's life after this. It could have been that he was confused about what he had been practicing or hearing. No, it would have been very confusing, but then Peter would have realized, what was the source of the knowledge or wisdom that he had brought with him, that he had inherited from those around him or from his ancestors.
It's not what you eat and drink that matters, it's why you do it, and then you have to decide whether to do it or not, whether to eat or not, based on that standard, because God made them, and then you have to decide how to do it by God's standard, not by the standard of what is visibly unclean, but by the standard of what is clean and unclean based on how God made them, whether He made them clean or not.
Lord, I pray that I would be a person who does not follow my own stereotypes, but only Your perspective. I pray that today I will judge, act, and speak only from Your perspective. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen!
