When Paul was defending himself before King Agrippa, he said that his life was open to people so that they could know about him by saying that many people knew about him (v. 4).
As I live my life, I am reminded to ask myself if I am living my life in such a way that my life is open and I am speaking with such transparency and focus that those around me know what I am thinking and what I am talking about, and if my life is such that I am confident and transparent enough to speak like that. Paul emphasized that he lived in obedience to the Scriptures (v. 5), which makes me think about myself and ask myself if I'm living in obedience to the Scriptures. And then he defended himself by saying that he was speaking the hope that his ancestors had (vv. 6-7).
He said that everyone around him could see how he lived, that he lived in obedience to the Word, that it was not something foreign to him, and I pray that I would be able to offer myself up to a life lived according to the Word. I pray that my life will be transparent so that those around me will know how to speak and act, but most of all, that they will know that it is biblical and that it is the hope of all of us.
I fervently pray that my life today will be a life of living according to the Word, of manifesting the hope in it, of living out that hope, and that many will be motivated to see that hope and the Word in my life, and that I will spend time dealing with Scripture, truth, and hope with those I meet today.
