내가 가져야 할 관심? - 다른 사람이 아니라 주님

 

 

 

요한복음 21:20-22 말씀을 읽고 도전이 된 내용과 묵상하고 적용할 사항을 정리해 보았습니다.

 

John 21:20-22 Peter turned and saw that the follower Jesus loved was walking behind them. (This was the follower who had leaned against Jesus at the supper and had said, "Lord, who will turn against you?") When Peter saw him behind them, he asked Jesus, "Lord, what about him?" Jesus answered, "If I want him to live until I come back, that is not your business. You follow me."

 

내 관심의 초점이 무엇인가? → 다른 사람이 아니라 주님을 따르는 것

 

베드로가 예수님과의 만찬 때 그를 배반한 자가 누군지를 물었던 제자를 바라보며 그가 어떻게 될지를 물었을 때(20-21절), 예수님께서는 당신이 돌아오실 때까지 그가 살아있기 원한다고 할지라도 그것은 너와 상관없다.. 너는 나를 따르라고 말씀하셨습니다(22절).

 

 

예수님께서는 다른 사람이 예수님과의 관계에서 어떻게 결정하시고 말씀하신 것을 베드로가 상관하는 것은 맞지 않고 오직 베드로가 신경 써야 하는 것은 예수님을 따르는가 하는 점이라고 명확히 말씀해 주셨습니다. 저는 직장에서 일하면서, 또는 영적인 모임이나 기타 인간관계에서 저 말고 다른 사람들이 어떻게 되는가에 대해 깊은 관심을 가지고 있는 경우가 많습니다. 그들이 어떻게 되는가를 과도하게 신경 쓰며 살아가는 모습에서 피로도 느끼고 여러 가지 아쉬움도 느끼는 경우가 많은 것 같습니다. 그러나 제가 신경 써야 하는 것은 제가 주님을 따르는가의 여부입니다. 제가 주님을 따르고자 하는 마음이 있고 그렇게 살아가는가가 매우 중요한 것 같습니다. 제가 주님을 따르고자 할 때 주님께서 그러한 저와 동행해 주시고 인도해 주실 것입니다.

 

주여, 제가 주님과 동행하며 주님의 음성을 듣고 따르는 자가 되게 해 주시옵소서.. 주님을 어떻게 따를 것인지에 대해 생각하며 그분의 음성에 순종하는지, 주님을 따르는 방향인지만 관심을 가지고 살아가는 인생이 되게 해 주시옵소서~

What is the focus of my attention? → Following the Lord, not others

 

 

When Peter looked at the disciple who had asked who betrayed him at the supper with Jesus and asked what would happen to him (vv. 20-21), Jesus said, "It has nothing to do with you, even if you want him alive until you return... He said, you follow me (v. 22).

 

 

Jesus made it clear that it was not for Peter to care what others decided or said in their relationship with Jesus, but that the only thing Peter should care about was whether or not he was following Jesus. I often find myself caring deeply about what happens to people other than me at work, in spiritual gatherings, or in other relationships, and I think I often feel exhausted and disappointed when I find myself overly concerned about how they are doing. But what I should care about is whether or not I am following the Lord. I think it's very important that I have a heart to follow the Lord and that I live that way. When I want to follow You, You will walk with me and guide me.

 

 

Lord, help me to walk with You, to hear Your voice and to be Your follower. May my life be one in which I think about how I am going to follow You, and only care about whether I am obeying Your voice, and whether I am going in the direction of following You~.
