성령의 역사 - 충만함과 능력을 주심

 

 

 

사도행전 2:4 말씀을 읽고 도전이 된 내용과 묵상하고 적용할 사항을 정리해 보았습니다.

 

Acts 2:4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak different languages by the power the Holy Spirit was giving them. 

 

 

성령의 역사 → 충만함과 능력을 주심

 

 

예수님의 부활, 승천하심 이후로 제자들이 모여있을 때 강한 바람과 불꽃같은 것들이 있는 것을 보며(1-3절) 성령이 충만하게 임했습니다. 성령이 충만하게 임하신 후 제자들에게는 각자가 다른 나라 말을 하는 능력을 갖게 되었습니다. 성령께서 강하게 임하여 그들이 성령의 충만함을 입은 후에 성령께서 하신 첫 번째 역사는 다른 나라의 말을 하는 것이었습니다.

 

 

태어나서 말을 배우기까지는 많은 시간이 소요되며, 우리는 다른 나라 언어를 배우기 위해 학창 시절에 많은 시간을 보내게 됩니다. 그 나라에 가서 생활하며 배우는 경우가 있습니다만, 유학을 가든 안 가든 언어를 배우려면 많은 시간이 소요되는 것을 볼 수 있습니다. 어떤 학자들은 언어를 배우기 위해서는 뇌의 특정한 부분이 발달되어야 한다는 의견도 있는 것 같습니다. 그러나 성령께서 역사하실 때 이 모든 우리의 노력과는 무관하게 새로운 능력을 보여주십니다. 제자들이 말했던 다른 나라의 언어는 그들이 지금까지 한 번도 경험하지 못했던 언어도 있을 것이라 예상합니다. 그럼에도 말을 한다는 것은 자기 내에 일어나는 기적을 스스로 경험하는 놀라운 경험일 것이라 생각되었습니다. 성령이 임하셔서 이와 같은 기적을 베푸시며 그들이 성령의 능력을 힘입어 많은 기적을 행하신 것이 나타나있고, 특히 제자들은 이러한 능력을 자신의 사리사욕을 채우기 위한 수단으로 사용하지 않고 온전히 주님을 전하는 사역에 몰두했습니다. 

 

 

주여, 저도 성령의 능력을 구하는 기도를 간절히 하며 무엇보다 성령께서 임하셔서 저의 개인적인 욕구와 재물을 구하는 일을 하지 않고 오직 주님의 일을 하는 자가 되기를 간절히 기도드립니다. 주여, 성령의 역사하심을 구하며 오늘도 주님과 말씀과 하나님을 증거 하는 삶을 살게 하소서... 오늘도 출장 과정에서 만나는 모든 사람들, 그 속에서 생각하고 말하는 모든 순간들을 통해 성령의 역사하심을 기억하며 살아가는 자가 되게 하여 주시옵소서.. 성령을 구하는 기도를 하며 주님을 증거 하게 하소서..

The Work of the Holy Spirit → Filling and Empowering

 

 

After Jesus' resurrection and ascension into heaven, the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit when they were gathered together and saw things like a strong wind and flames (vv. 1-3). After they were filled with the Holy Spirit, they each had the ability to speak in other languages. The first thing the Holy Spirit did after they were filled with the Holy Spirit was to give them the ability to speak other languages.

 

 

It takes a lot of time from birth to learn to speak, and we spend a lot of time in our school years trying to learn the language of another country, sometimes by going and living in that country, but whether you study abroad or not, you can see that it takes a lot of time to learn a language. Some scholars believe that certain parts of the brain need to be developed in order to learn a language, but when the Holy Spirit works, He reveals new abilities independent of all our efforts. The languages that the disciples spoke were probably some of the languages that they had never experienced before, and yet to speak them would have been an amazing experience of a miracle happening within themselves. As the Holy Spirit came upon them and performed these miracles, it is evident that they were empowered by the Holy Spirit to perform many miracles, and in particular, the disciples did not use these abilities as a means to fulfill their own selfish desires, but were fully engaged in the work of preaching the Lord.

 

 

Lord, I fervently pray for the power of the Holy Spirit, and above all, that the Holy Spirit will come upon me so that I will not do things to fulfill my own personal desires and riches, but only to do Your work. Lord, as I seek the power of the Holy Spirit, I pray that I may live my life today as a witness for You, Your Word, and God... I pray for the Holy Spirit, that I may live my life today remembering the work of the Holy Spirit in every person I meet on my travels, in every thought and word I speak, and in every moment of my life... Let me bear witness to you by praying for the Holy Spirit....
