사도행전 4:13,20 말씀을 읽고 도전이 된 내용과 묵상하고 적용할 사항을 정리해 보았습니다.
Acts 4:13,20 The leaders saw that Peter and John were not afraid to speak, and they undersood that these men had no special training or education. So they were amazed. Then they realized that Peter and John had been with Jesus. / We cannot keep quiet. We must speak about what we have seen and heard."
훈련이나 교육 없이 담대히 말할 수 있는 것 → 자신이 직접 보고 들은 것
예수님 당시의 영적 리더들은 베드로와 요한이 사람들에게 두려움 없이 말하는 것을 보며, 그들이 어떠한 훈련이나 교육을 받지 않은 자들임에도 그와 같이 담대히 사람들에게 말한 것에 대해 놀라워했습니다. 그래서 그 이유를 살펴보니 그들(베드로와 요한)은 예수님이 함께 계셨기 때문이었습니다(13절). 그래서 당시의 영적 리더들은 베드로와 요한을 불러서 그들이 더 이상 예수님에 대해 말하지 않도록 말했습니다만(18절), 베드로와 요한은 자신들이 조용히 있을 수 없다며 자신들이 예수님에 대해 보고 들은 것을 말해야 한다고 대답했습니다(20절).
우리는 어디를 가더라도, 어떠한 상황에서라도 무엇이든지 자신 있게 이야기할 수 있는 것은 우리가 경험한 것들일 것입니다. 보도 듣고 만지고 느꼈던 자신의 경험은 어디에서라도 담대히 말할 수 있을 것입니다. 베드로와 요한이 교육이나 훈련을 받지 않았음에도 사람들에게 영향을 주고 사람들을 놀랍게 인도한 것은 교육이나 훈련이 아니라 그들이 보고 들은 경험 때문이었습니다.
저도 어떠한 상황에서도 제가 경험하고 보고 들은 것은 잊지 않을뿐더러 자신 있게 말할 수 있을 것입니다. 교육을 받거나 훈련을 받은 것들도 자신이 그러한 교육이나 훈련 과정에서 배운 것을 자신 있게 말할 수 있겠으나, 심지어 교육을 받은 것들 중에서도 자신의 것으로 소화하고 자신이 직접 실행해 본 것들에 대해서는 자신 있게 말할 수 있을 것입니다.
저도 무엇보다 진리 되시는 예수님과 만나고 경험하며 말씀 안에서 보고 듣고 만진 경험을 늘려나가는 시간들이 되어야 하겠습니다. 말씀을 보고 듣고 진리를 말씀하시는 많은 분들의 말씀을 듣는 것도 중요하지만 하나의 말씀이라도 붙들며 삶에서 적용하며 그 말씀이 이뤄지는 것을 보는 경험이 쌓이는 것이 중요한 것 같습니다.
주여, 오늘도 제가 주님을 바라보고 주님과 동행하며 주님을 보고, 듣고, 만진 경험을 늘리는 시간들이 되게 해 주시옵소서.. 일상의 모든 삶을 통하여 주님을 바라보고 경험하려는 선한 의도를 가지고 살아갈 수 있기를 기도드립니다. 아멘!

What you can speak boldly without training or education → What you've seen and heard firsthand
When the spiritual leaders of Jesus' day saw Peter and John speaking fearlessly to people, they were amazed that they could speak so boldly to people without any training or education, and when they looked into it, they realized that it was because they (Peter and John) had Jesus with them (v. 13). So the spiritual leaders of the day called Peter and John in and told them to stop talking about Jesus (v. 18), but Peter and John replied that they couldn't keep quiet, that they had to tell what they had seen and heard about Jesus (v. 20).
No matter where we go, in any situation, it will be the things we have experienced that we will be able to speak about with confidence. It will be the things we have seen, heard, touched, and felt that we will be able to speak about with boldness. It was not education or training that allowed Peter and John to influence people and amaze them, but the experiences they had seen and heard, even though they had no education or training.
I, too, will not forget what I have experienced, seen, and heard under any circumstances, and I will be able to say with confidence that even those who are educated or trained will be able to say with confidence what they have learned from that education or training, but even those who are educated will be able to say with confidence what they have digested and practiced as their own.
For me, it should be a time of increasing my experience of encountering and experiencing Jesus as the truth, of seeing, hearing, and touching the Word. It is important to see and hear the Word and to listen to many people who speak the truth, but it is important to have the experience of holding on to even one Word and applying it in my life and seeing it fulfilled.
Lord, let today be a time when I look to You, walk with You, and increase my experience of seeing, hearing, and touching You.... May I live with the good intention of seeing and experiencing You in every aspect of my daily life. Amen!
