어려움 속에서 잊지 않아야 하는 것 - 전능자 하나님

 

 

 

시편 44:13-17 말씀을 읽고 도전이 된 내용과 묵상하고 적용할 사항을 정리해 보았습니다.

 

Psalm 44:13-17 You made us a joke to our neighbors; those around us laugh and make fun of us. You made us a joke to the other nations; people shake their heads. I am always in disgrace, and I am covered with shame. My enemy is getting even with insults and curses. All those things have happended to us, but we have not forgotten you or failed to keep our agreement with you. 

 

 

어려움 속에서도 잊지 않아야 하는 것 → 하나님

 

 

시편 기자(고라 자손)는 1) 이웃과 동료들이 자신을 비웃거나 자신을 둘러싸고 웃으며 가볍게 대하고, 2) 다른 나라와 민족들이 자신을 조롱하고 3) 자신들의 머리를 흔들며 동의하지 않는 등 자신을 제외하고 자신을 둘러싼 많은 이들이 자신에게 함부로 대하여 마치 자신이 가치가 없는 자인 것처럼 대하며 4) 부끄러움을 당하는 상황이 되며 5) 모욕하며 6) 속이는 상황 속에서도 지켰던 것, 반드시 유지하려 했던 것이 있었습니다. 그것은 바로 하나님과 그와 맺은 약속이었습니다.

 

 

자신을 둘러싼 상황과 환경이 안 좋아 보이고 나아가 주변인들이 자신을 업신여기며, 조롱하고 비판하며 속이고 모욕하여 부끄러움을 당하는 상황 속에서 저는 살아갈 힘을 느끼지 못하고 무너져 내릴 수 있는 것 같습니다. 주여, 어떻게 이러한 상황이 있을 수 있고, 이러한 상황 가운데 사람이 있을 수 있는지요? 그러한 상황 속에서 저는 힘을 얻지 못하고 많은 사람들의 시선을 의식하여 멀리 떠나거나 주변인들을 저주하며 살아갈 것 같습니다. 주여,,,  그러나 이러한 상황 속에서도 시편 기자는 하나님을 잊지 않았습니다. 그리고 하나님과 맺었던 언약을 끝까지 지키고자 했습니다.

 

 

참으로 놀라운 반응입니다. 이러한 상황 속에서도 그 상황과 환경을 주관하시는 하나님을 원망하거나 비판하거나 돌이키지 않고 끝까지 신뢰하는 가운데 주님을 기억하고 약속을 주장하며 일관되게 살아갔던 시편기자가 참으로 놀랍고, 나아가 주님을 찬양드립니다.

 

 

주여, 제 주변의 사람들이 저를 비난하고 조롱하며 속이고 많은 어려움 가운데 저를 몰아넣는 상황이 펼쳐진다 할 때, 제가 주님을 깊이 생각하고 인정하며 주님을 떠나는 어리석은 결정을 하지 않을 수 있기를 기도드립니다. 주여, 제 나약하고 어리석으며, 세속화되어 있는 마음을 헤아려 주시옵고, 돌이켜 주님을 신뢰하는 삶을 살아갈 수 있기를 간절히 기도드립니다.

What to Remember in Times of Trouble → God

 

 

The psalmist (a descendant of Korah) had one thing that he kept, one thing that he tried to keep, even though 1) his neighbors and peers were laughing at him or surrounding him and treating him lightly, 2) other nations and peoples were mocking him, 3) they were shaking their heads and disagreeing with him, 4) he was being put to shame, 5) they were insulting him, and 6) they were deceiving him, and that was God and the promise that he had made to him. It was God.

 

 

In the midst of a situation where the circumstances and the environment around me seem to be going badly and I am being put to shame by those around me, mocking me, criticizing me, deceiving me, insulting me, I feel like I don't have the strength to live and I might break down, Lord, how can there be a situation like this, how can there be a person in the midst of a situation like this, in the midst of a situation like this, I feel like I don't have the strength and I might walk away, conscious of the eyes of many, or I might curse those around me, Lord,,, but in the midst of this, the Psalmist didn't forget God, and he kept the covenant that he had made with God to the end.

 

 

What an amazing response, and I praise the Lord that even in the midst of these circumstances, the psalmist did not resent, criticize, or turn away from the God who is in control of the situation and circumstances, but remained consistent in remembering the Lord, claiming His promises, and trusting Him to the end.

 

 

Lord, I pray that when the people around me accuse me, mock me, deceive me, and throw me into the midst of many difficulties, that I will ponder and acknowledge You and not make the foolish decision to leave You. Lord, I fervently pray that You will search my weak, foolish, and worldly heart, and that I will be able to turn around and live a life of trust in You.
