욥기 17:1-4 말씀을 읽고 도전이 된 내용과 묵상하고 적용할 사항을 정리해 보았습니다.
Job 17:1-3 My spirit is broken; the days of my life are almost gone. The grave is waiting for me. Those who laugh at me surround me; I watch them insult me. "God, make me a promise. No one will make a pledge for me.
영이 무너지는 상황 속에서... → 하나님의 약속을 바라봄
욥은 자신이 처한 상황 속에서 하나님을 바라는 믿음을 가지며 지켰고 자신의 삶과 생명이 지나가서 없어지는 것과 같은 경험을 했습니다. 이제 자신 앞에는 무덤이 놓여 있어서 살아갈 힘과 능력이 더 이상 없고 자신의 주변 사람들은 자신을 비웃는 상황을 맞이했습니다. 그러한 상황에서도 욥은 주님께 약속을 주장했고, 주님의 약속만이 가치가 있는 것임을 기억하며 주님께 시선을 돌렸습니다. 아무도 자신에게 약속하며 자신을 위로하거나 상황을 돌이킬 수 없음을 알고 고백했습니다.
자신에게 전개되는 엄청난 비관적인 상황 속에서 욥은 자신이 바라볼 것이 약속이었고 그것도 주님과의 약속을 기억하려 애썼으며, 함께 계시는 하나님을 바라보고자 했습니다. 하나님께서 자신에게 주셨던 약속을 따라 자신의 지난날이 있었음을 기억하며 지난날에 자신을 지켜주고 인도해 주셨던 주님의 약속을 현재와 같은 비관적인 상황 속에서도 기억해 주시고 이뤄주시길 간절히 기대하는 삶을 살았습니다.
주여, 오늘도 제 주변을 인식하며 살아가되 무엇보다 하나님의 약속을 의지하며 약속을 기억하려 하고, 약속에 따라 살아가는 자가 되고 주님의 약속을 간절히 주장하며 살아가는 인생이 되길 간절히 기도드립니다. 주여, 저의 처한 상황을 인지하며 살피는 것과 동시에 주님의 약속을 선명히 바라보는 훈련을 지속하고 그 약속을 따라 살아가는 복된 삶을 지속하게 되길 간절히 기도드립니다. 주여, 제가 주님의 얼굴을 바라보며 주님의 약속을 따라 믿음으로 살아가는 삶이 되길, 연약한 자를 도우시며 약속을 이루시는 분이심을 기억하며 살아가는 자가 되길 간절히 기도드립니다. 제게 주신 약속을 따라 주님의 문을 열며 영생의 자리에 나아가고 주님의 제자와 일꾼을 배가하며 주님의 지상사명을 성취하기에 조금도 부족함이 없이 주님께 헌신하며 주님께 영광을 돌리는 삶을 살아가길 간절히 기도드립니다. 아멘!

In the midst of a spirit crushing situation... → Looking to God's promises
Job kept his faith in God in the midst of the circumstances he found himself in, and he experienced what it was like to have his life and life's work pass him by. He now found himself in a situation where he no longer had the strength and ability to live because he had a grave in front of him, and those around him were laughing at him. Even in that situation, Job claimed the promises of the Lord, and he turned to the Lord, remembering that only the promises of the Lord are worth anything. He knew and confessed that no one else could comfort him with promises or turn his situation around.
In the midst of the overwhelmingly pessimistic circumstances unfolding around him, Job tried to remember that what he had to look to were promises, and he looked to the God who was with him. He remembered the promises that God had made to him, and he lived a life that eagerly expected the Lord to remember and fulfill the promises that had protected and guided him in the past, even in the midst of his current pessimistic circumstances.
Lord, I pray that my life today will be one in which I am aware of my surroundings, but most of all, I will rely on Your promises, remember Your promises, live by Your promises, and eagerly claim Your promises. Lord, I earnestly pray that I may continue to practice the discipline of being aware of my circumstances, but at the same time keeping a clear view of Your promises, and that I may continue to live a blessed life of living according to those promises. Lord, I earnestly pray that I may live a life of faith, looking into Your face and following Your promises, remembering that You are the One who helps the weak and fulfills Your promises. It is my earnest prayer that I may live a life that glorifies You by following Your promises, by opening Your doors and entering into eternal life, by multiplying Your disciples and workers, and by devoting myself to You so that I will not be lacking in the least to fulfill Your mission on earth. Amen!
